A welcome surprise at Night and an Alien Hitchhiker

Peaking into the Aquarium nightlife with a torch isnt really nice for the fish I think, even though they dont seem to be too bothered, but I still dont want to do it too often. Sunday evening though it was really worth it. I saw an inhabitant that I have long thought ended up as a snack, the red Nudibranch is back! ๐Ÿ™‚ It seems to be doing well as it has grown about 1cm since I have last seen it in November. It turned away from the light straight away. I think itsย Aeolidiella sanguinea

Another completely baffling site at night is the Rainbow Wrack, totally shocking colours! No photo editing ๐Ÿ˜‰

On the weekend when I only intended to collect some water as the tides where not favourable I got an itching to just quickly “go around for a look” in the pools anyway. When I left the car I realised that I was carrying the Bucket with net and tools ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was worth it, even the high pools had lots of live in it and I found a spot with very bright orange beadlet anemones ๐Ÿ™‚ Also some very bright red ones that completely shadow the other red ones I have.

Anemone City below, one of the small Snakelocks has also split so now there is 9! I have to return the bigger ones now.

The weirdest encounter was this Seahare (I think Aplysia punctata)ย that reminded me of a SciFi movie especially these jaw like extensions ๐Ÿ™‚ Absolutely amazing, this hobby doesnt stop completely baffling me with the beauty and weirdness of nature ๐Ÿ™‚

I forgot to mention another newcomer, a small 5cm Butterfish. Its in there since over a week ago and I am keeping a very close eye on it as it has lost almost all of its beautiful colour and they dont seem to do well in aquariums. But its colour is like that since a week and reasonably active and feeding. Very nice to watch the snakelike movement which is very different to any other inhabitant. I suppose the colourchange could be due to the bright sand.

The Strawberry Anemone is finally awaken again. Was worried as it was getting very small and had some marks on it and looked like it wanted to hide in the gap between the two stones. I think it has lost a fight against the brown/yellow one on the side of the rock. Well when it came back up it was veeery careful checking things out first ๐Ÿ™‚
